J.S. Bach: Saint Matthew Passion, BWV 244

To many, Saint Matthew Passion is regarded as Bach's crowning achievement and his most significant contribution to western music. Bach interprets events in the final days of Jesus' life, with vivid drama, deeply moving responses, and devout expressions of his Christian faith. It is a work that all choral singers must sing and all music lovers must hear.
